Creating a presentation to enhance recruitment consultants' understanding of AI tools and practical applications in recruitment.

In a small team, I lead research into prompt engineering and wrote concise copy for the presentation.

The Problem

Recruitment consultants expressed confusion and frustration at not being able to get useful output from their AI tools.

We saw an opportunity to address their concerns, scheduling a 30-minute talk on AI at Pertemps' Permanently Successful Conference.

Understanding our "Users"

We engaged with Pertemps' Director of Permanent Recruitment to understand the everyday challenges facing recruiters.

We identified key areas where AI could simplify or automate repetitive or difficult tasks, with the goal of freeing up more of recruiters' time for the more enjoyable, social, human-centered aspects of their roles.

My Role

I lead the research process into prompt engineering and tested different LLM's performance for specific tasks undertaken by our recruiters.

From my insights, we built an agenda for the presentation to directly address the goals and frustrations of our consultants.

I prepared concise copy for the presentation, presenting complex ideas into natural language for our consultants to quickly understand.

Impact

We received buy-in from Pertemps to take the project further, conducting further user research via a survey in order to start developing an AI toolkit for our consultants.

The presentation was delivered by our Head of Digital, and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from recruiters.
